  • Summer Wedding at Rockbeare Manor, nr Exeter

This lovely couple had their August wedding at Rockbeare Manor which is a beautiful country manor house venue very near to Exeter. The grounds and interiors are lovely, great for sunny and rainy weddings! The bride started prep over in the Dairy and then at 11am moved over to the glorious Drawing Room upstairs with a balcony looking over the driveway and fields. The men had a great time getting ready downstairs in the Billiards Room, with dark furnishings and beautiful light, just right for those 'manly' getting-ready photos. The weather was lovely for outdoor drinks, confetti and group photos. We did couple photos outside at goldenish hour! and some flash photography around the house. Bridal hair was by Gorgeous Bridal Hair, make-up by Kayleigh B Make Up , the bride's wedding dress was by Timeless Elegance Bridal Cardiff, flowers by Whoopsadaisy Florist in Sidmouth

  • Destination Wedding in Venice

As part of your destination wedding in Italy, why not treat yourselves to a magical gondola ride through the canals of Venice, coming out under the Bridge of Sighs to Piazza San Marco and the Grand Canal. Natalia and Alberto cuddled under the bridges as our gondolier steered us through the narrow waterways and beamed with joy when the sun peeped out over the lagoon. Make-up by www.amyrosebridalmakeup.com and flowers by www.katefloweran.com.

  • Devon Wedding Photographer in the Atlas Mountains

Amy and Mike's wedding breakfast set-up at the gorgeous Hotel Kasbah Bab Ourika www.kasbahbabourika.com. The drapery is by www.miasylvia.co.uk. It was so nice to have a colourful table decor inspired by the oranges and lemons all around us. Amy's dress was by www.haloandwrenbridal.co.uk and accessories by www.mutedluxe.com. I think it is always nice to have some of your couple photos around the table/dining room set-up, which you have probably spent a lot of time dreaming up! Just wander around your tables, admiring the little touches, sit on your chairs and have a romantic few moments.

  • A couple's practice shoot on Exmouth Beach, Devon

A & B are getting married in July and decided to have a practice shoot on Exmouth Beach at sunrise. We were a little late for true sunrise (although it was only 7.30!) but it was still beautiful and only a few people around. The groom was a bit nervous but soon got into it when he realised it wasn't a "posey" thing, but just involved them running around doing silly things! We did a bit of walking, running, hugging and kissing of noses! We did twirling and dipping and standing! It sounds so simple but it really helps get couples more comfortable with what they will do on the day for couple's photos. This shoot was even better because the bride wore a white suit, brought a little bouquet and a practice veil. The groom wore his lovely velvet black DJ.

  • Glamour Wedding at Devon's Rockbeare Manor

The day started with the girls in the beautiful Drawing Room at Rockbeare Manor having their hair styled by @NatalieNicholsBridal (www.natalienichols-bridal.com) and make-up applied by @SophieWhiteMUA, while the boys arrived by helicopter! landing in the fields to the side of the Manor House. The boys then quickly donned their black tie in the Billiards Room and went outside for more James Bond-like photos with the helicopter. The ceremony took place in the Ballroom and because it was February and a bit wet and windy, we did the confetti walk straight after the ceremony. We did manage to grab a short dry spell to do beautiful group photos in front of the house, including the dogs who were being looked after at the venue. We did a few couple photos along with the videographer @BenRadleyWeddingFilms (www.benradleyweddingfilms.co.uk), combining the bride and groom's gorgeousness! with the beauty of the Rockbeare surroundings. While we had been photographing, the amazing Rockbeare staff had cleared the Ballroom and set out the wedding breakfast tables. The guests sat down to a tasty meal and the parents and men made their speeches. In between the speeches and first dance, I snatched the couple away for a few intimate photos in the Drawing Room and on the staircase using flash for that Hollywood glamour look. Flowers were by @daisyleeltd (www.daisyleeltd.co.uk) and the bride's dress was by @TheBridalMill_Botley (www.thebridalmill.co.uk) and @allurebridals (www.allurebridals.com). The band which everyone went crazy for was @renegadesofrockband.

  • Editorial Wedding Dress Shoot

Mary, a professional model, was amazing for this shoot showing a Halo & Wren Bridal wedding dress and Sash & Veil cape. I used these photos recently to show brides the body angles which models use when having their photos taken - not that wedding photographers expect brides to do this on their wedding day! or want them to, but brides do often ask how best to stand. Creating angles/triangles with your arms, legs, hands etc helps the image avoid looking rigid and flat - also keep your fingers loose, master the three quarters pose, where you turn your body slightly away from the camera, look behind the camera or into the eyes of the photographer, keep your poses moving and alive but move slowly.
